I am a plant ecologist interested in how plant interactions shape vegetation structure, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience. My research combines ecological theory, mathematical modeling, greenhouse and field experiments, and natural history to understand plant communities across scales — from belowground competition among neighboring plants to ecosystem-level processes such as herbivory, disturbance, and landscape structure.
Belowground interactions, game theory, root foraging strategies, and resource acquisition.
Mechanisms maintaining biodiversity and spatial organization in plant communities.
Mediterranean open-oak landscapes, herbivory, fire, and conservation implications.
